Please meet our newest Grants Manager and Development Associate!
From a very young age, she has enjoyed volunteering and has worked for nonprofits for over 8 years
We like to introduce Cat Flynn to our Flatirons Habitat Community! She joins us from San Diego and will serve as our new Grants Manager!
Cat, who grew up in the Denver area, has recently moved back. She began her involvement with nonprofits in Colorado and from a very young age has enjoyed volunteering in many different issue areas in her community.
Coming from an immigrant family, Cat said that she learned the immense value of nurturing relationships with neighbors and embracing community. Guided by this passion, it came naturally that she pursued employment in the nonprofit sector following college.
Prior to joining Flatirons Habitat, Cat served as the Community Programs Coordinator at I Love A Clean San Diego. In that role, she managed five different volunteer programs that engaged individuals, school and faith-based groups, and large corporations and sponsors in environmental education and stewardship in San Diego County.
For over 8 years, Cat has worked for and with nonprofits that address education, food justice, sustainability, resource distribution, and human services.
Some of her proudest career accomplishments are as follows: deepening the impact of Reading Partners Colorado programming by altering recruitment strategies to include tutors most representative of RP students, empowering Seed2Seed leaders to advocate for themselves and their access to nourishment with The GrowHaus, and facilitating webinars enabling collaboration among global nonprofit executives exploring social justice in a diverse range of capacities with the Nonprofit Learning Lab.
In her free time, Cat said that she enjoys cooking, eating, dancing to live music, gardening, skiing, camping and doing yoga.
Cat added that she is thrilled to be joining the team and looking forward to designing innovative ways to invigorate the generosity of the Flatirons Habitat community.
