Our Commitment

Flatirons Habitat for Humanity (FHFH) is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. What follows is FHFH’s donor privacy policy, which governs personal information (name, physical addresses, phone numbers and emails) gathered through our internet site, mail and verbal communication. Physical, electronic and managerial procedures have been employed to safeguard the security and integrity of personal information. Personal information refers to name, physical addresses, phone numbers and emails.

We will not share, sell, trade or disclose any personal information about an individual or donor. Nor will we send donor mailings on behalf of another organization.

Our Policy

FHFH seeks to respect and protect the privacy of our constituents and donors and only gathers personally identifiable data, such as names, addresses, zip/postal codes, e-mail addresses, etc. when voluntarily submitted by a constituent or donor. For example, personally identifiable information may be collected in order to complete a donation transaction or a volunteer application. It is the policy of FHFH to maintain accurate information on the constituent and/or donor. If you would like to review information we have about you, please contact us via U.S. mail (address above), e-mail info@flatironshabitat.org or phone 303-447-3787. FHFH will correct any information that is inaccurate.

How Information is Used: FHFH uses constituent and donor information to understand their needs and provide them with better service. Specifically, we use their information to help them complete a transaction/donation, communicate back to them (acknowledgement), update them on affiliate happenings and solicit donations. Credit card numbers are used only for donation or payment processing and are not retained.

Online: All FHFH’s online donations are processed through ColoradoGives.org a website of Community First Foundation. Their merchant bank, FirstBank, and credit card and e-check processing companies, Braintree and Authorize.net, do not have permission to share or use an individual/donor’s personal information.

Community First Foundation doesn’t collect personally identifiable information about donors or individuals unless they knowingly provide it to us. Once the individual provides personal or professional information, that data remains confidential and will only be used by Community First Foundation and FHFH. Community First Foundation and the Flatirons Habitat for Humanity will receive and retain the individual’s name, address, email, phone number, date of donation, the amount of the donation, whether the donation is recurring, the frequency of any recurring gifts, any specifications made about the gift, and whether the individual wants the gift to be anonymous on Flatirons Habitat for Humanity’s annual report (s).

Community First Foundation shares this information with FHFH. If, however, the individual elects to be "completely anonymous," Community First Foundation will still receive and retain that same information, but Flatirons Habitat for Humanity will not. Community First Foundation also authorizes their employees to view individual personal information only when necessary to serve the individual better. Aside from Community First Foundation and FHFH, individual information will not be shared with any other organization. The individual’s name will be added to the Flatirons Habitat for Humanity’s donor database. The individual may receive communications via email or mail. If the individual wishes not to receive communications from FHFH please contact the affiliate at 303-447-3787 or email info@flatironshabitat.org.

When an individual makes a donation to FHFH through ColoradoGives.org, they may receive occasional emails from Colorado Gives updating on charities, noteworthy developments in online philanthropy, and seeking feedback through surveys. If the individual does not wish to hear from ColoradoGives.org, simply use the unsubscribe feature on these emails and/or contact them directly at COGives@CommunityFirstFoundation.org or you can reach them by telephone at 720.898.5900.

Security Online

When an individual uses Community First Foundation forms to donate through ColoradoGives.org, their website uses Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) encryption. SSL/TLS is a generally accepted protocol that encrypts all communication between the individual’s web browser and the site they are viewing to prevent third parties from eavesdropping or tampering with any donation information. Common browsers, such as Internet Explorer, make it obvious when information is being passed in a secure manner by using the prefix https:// in the URL or displaying a padlock somewhere in the browser window.

ColoradoGives.org uses a third party SSL/TLS Certificate provider. The level of encryption is determined by the web browser, a computer's operating system, and the SSL/TLS Certificate.

They then use Braintree, https://www.braintreepayments.com, and Authorize.net, http://www.authorize.net, to process payment information. Individuals or donors may learn more about their security practices by visiting their websites.

Cookies

Community First Foundation uses cookies to store visitors' preferences, record session information, such as items that donors add to their giving cart, alert site visitors to new areas that they think might be of interest to the individual when they return to ColoradoGives.com, and record past activity at their site in order to provide better service when visitors return to the site.
