Alex Varner

Homeowner Services Manager

As the Homeowner Services Manager at Flatirons Habitat for Humanity, Alex is passionate about helping families achieve the dream of homeownership and supporting them each step of the way. Since joining the organization in January 2025, he has worked closely with future homeowners from the moment they apply through closing day.

Drawing on a background in public health and community health, Alex believes that safe, sustainable, and affordable housing is one of the most powerful ways to improve health and strengthen communities. He earned a bachelor's degree in Public Health from Utah Valley University in 2023 and previously worked as a Community Health Worker, where he saw firsthand how social determinants of health impact individuals and families.

In this role, Alex oversees the entire homeownership journey, guiding families through the application and selection process, coordinating the Family Selection Committee, supporting sweat equity participation, and preparing homeowners for the financial and legal responsibilities of owning a home. He also partners with local municipalities, housing organizations, and state agencies to connect families with affordable housing resources, down payment assistance, and funding opportunities that help make homeownership possible. As both an advocate and case manager, he enjoys building meaningful relationships with Habitat families and helping them navigate life's challenges with the support and resources they need to thrive.

Outside of work, Alex loves spending time with his wife and their two dogs, or taking advantage of all the enjoyable activities Colorado has to offer: whether that's going to a baseball game, exploring new cuisine, or simply enjoying a stroll through the neighborhood.
