Critical Home Repair

Flatirons Habitat for Humanity offers a program that goes beyond new home construction and reaches families in need in their current homes. The Critical Repair Program is currently available to homeowners in Broomfield who meet the below qualifications.

Repairs include:

  • Electrical, heating, plumbing, roofing and structural repair

  • Replacement of items to promote energy efficiency and lower utility costs

  • Other items to correct code violations and accessibility needs.

To apply you must:

  • Own and occupy the property as your sole residence.

  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal, permanent resident or a permanent refugee, and a resident of Broomfield.

  • Total family income must be below 60 percent of the area median income for Broomfield.

  • Willing to partner with Flatirons Habitat for Humanity and complete "sweat equity" (three hours per $1,000 of repairs). Sweat equity can be completed by doing repairs, doing “homework,” such as painting, or volunteering at our ReStore in Broomfield.
